Climate Change Pledge

EATS Rosyth pledge to tackle climate change

EATS Rosyth have been encouraging local residents to grow their own food and help reduce carbon emissions in the town. We have been greatly encouraged by the numbers of people who have risen to the challenge either by growing, volunteering or by choosing to compost instead of sending more and more waste to landfill. This week our volunteers came together to sign the Climate Change Pledge for Communities. By signing this pledge we are committing to:

  • take active steps to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, collectively and individually
  • tell people what we are doing and why
  • explore other actions we can take to address climate change and our resilience to it.

Climate change will have an impact on our community and across the world and we are proud to be working hard to tackle the causes in our local area. If you are passionate about the environment and would like to help Rosyth reduce carbon, then please email info@project1-k73z9e4qk6.live-website.com and see how you can contribute.

EATS Food Project Manager Karen Dorrat has also been lucky enough to be one of the first people in Scotland to achieve the Carbon Literacy Accreditation, enabling her to share with the community ways to reduce your carbon footprint. Her particular area of interest is in reducing and tackling food waste and the Rosyth Community Hub has been a great help in achieving that aim, a place where the EATS team can distribute Rosyth Community Garden produce and where we can share surplus food and give information on ways to make your food go further.
